A Triumph For Climate Fiction: Peter Brennan Wins 2026 Readers’ Favorite Award

Our member Peter Brennan has been awarded the Readers’ Favorite Award for “ICEAPELAGO 3”, the third volume of his climate fiction trilogy.

We wholeheartedly congratulate him on this recognition and are delighted that climate fiction and the literary exploration of the challenges of our time are receiving attention in this way.

With “ICEAPELAGO 3”, Peter Brennan brings his dystopian climate fiction trilogy to a close with this third instalment. The award from Readers’ Favorite is a wonderful achievement for our author and further evidence of the diversity and international scope of climate fiction.

The next publication is also just around the corner: Peter’s next novel, “The Kish Lighthouse Keeper”, is due to be published in January 2027. We are looking forward to his new work and wish him continued success!

Climate fiction knows no borders

Peter Brennan’s success also embodies what we, as Climate Fiction Writers Europe e. V., stand for: we aim to raise public awareness of climate fiction, connect authors with one another, and promote stories that explore climate, the environment and possible futures.

We explicitly see ourselves as a Europe-wide association of authors. Our members currently come from seven European countries. This international diversity opens up new perspectives, fosters exchange across national borders and demonstrates that the climate crisis and its literary representation know no national boundaries.

Many successful and award-winning voices under one roof

In addition to Peter Brennan, our ranks include numerous other successful authors. These include, for example, Thomas Thiemeyer, Wolf Harlander, Regine Bott, Tibor Rode, Jennifer B. Wind and Uwe Laub – as well as many other writers whose books reach a wide audience and who have received recognition for their literary work.

Their works demonstrate just how varied climate fiction and thematically related literature can be: from gripping thrillers and dystopian future scenarios to stories that explore social developments, technological risks and environmental changes.

We are proud to bring this diversity together within our association and to work together to raise the profile of climate fiction.
