Membership

Climate Fiction Writers Europe e.V. welcomes all those who, like us, identify with our genre and our cause. We welcome all authors, writers, journalists, copywriters, poets, critics, translators, bloggers and other published creative artists whose work deals with topics that include or deal with the environment, nature, sustainability and climate change and its consequences in the broadest sense. Our registered association is open to all citizens and is not affiliated with any ideological, economic or financial groups, parties or governments.
Requirements for membership

To apply for membership of Climate Fiction Writers Europe, you should present at least one publication that fits our profile. It is not relevant whether you are traditionally published by a publishing house, self-published or have your own blog. The form of writing is also irrelevant. Whether books, blogs, articles, scripts, screenplays or poems – anyone who writes is welcome.

If one of these requirements is met, you can fill out the application form, sign it and send it to us either by email or post. You can download the application form here on this page – as well as our data protection information, which explains the extent to which we collect and process personal data. We also require these to be signed and sent to us by email or post.

The Executive Board will consult together on your application and vote on it. The applicant has no right to acceptance – even if there are already publications in the context of “Climate Fiction”. We reserve the right to reject applications if it is apparent that applicants obviously represent values in their works or public appearance that are not in line with our values – primarily extremism, discrimination or intolerance towards marginalized groups in any form.

If you do not (yet) meet the formal requirements for regular membership, you can always become a supporting member first.

The annual membership fee is EUR 36.00 and is payable annually in advance.
The one-off admission fee for new members is EUR 20.00.

As a registered non-profit association, we are authorized to issue tax-deductible donation receipts in accordance with §50 para. 1 EStDV for monetary donations, but also for donations in goods and membership fees. Our corporation promotes the following charitable purposes:

  • Promotion of art and culture (§52 para. 2 sentence 1 no. 5 AO)
  • Promotion of environmental protection including climate protection (§52 para. 2 sentence 1 no. 8 AO)
