Preamble
Climate Fiction Writers Europe e.V. is a registered non-profit association for all authors (writers, journalists, copywriters, poets, bloggers, and other published creative professionals) whose works address topics that shed light on the environment, nature, sustainability, climate change, and its consequences in the broadest sense.
Literature is one of the best ways to inspire passion, empathy, and the desire for change. We are a group of authors who are convinced of the need for environmental and climate protection measures and sustainability, and we want to do our part. Our works raise awareness of the important issues of our time and encourage action at the individual, corporate, and government levels.
“Climate Fiction Writers Europe e.V.” is open to all people in Europe and is not affiliated with any ideological, economic, or financial groups, parties, or governments. We oppose all forms of extremism and intolerance based on religion, race, origin, or gender.
*) For better readability, we do not use gender-neutral language on this website. All references to persons apply equally to all genders.
Our goals
We are a community of writers who want to make a difference. We write because we are curious, because we have something to say, because we hope for change, and because we want to share our passion. In this way, we celebrate the wonders of nature and at the same time help to raise awareness of the problematic way we treat our planet.
Climate Fiction is still an underrepresented genre in Europe. Those who write in this genre usually struggle alone. We feel the need to exchange ideas with like-minded people. We share ideas and information, tips and opportunities, sources and connections. We join forces to make our voices heard.
We want to make a difference to the history of our planet. Each in our own way. Individually, but also collectively.
We want to promote the writing and appreciation of Climate Fiction in Europe and especially in German-speaking countries.
We want to inform, support, promote, defend, and advocate for authors of Climate Fiction.
We want to be a competent point of contact for Climate Fiction and thus a comprehensive source of information and education.
We want to represent, promote, and defend the interests of our authors in the various areas of the publishing industry and self-publishing.
