For millennia, the Wanderer has roamed the Earth, disgusted by humans and their bestial nature. Now, in the year 2055, he wants to wipe out the hated species once and for all and take revenge on God for an ancient conflict. To this end, he has tasked his young protégé Anthony with stealing a secret military weapon.
The only people who can stop him are a handful of young recruits around the disturbed outsider Joshua Carlton, who hasn’t spoken a word in years. However, the comrades must endure a test of character and Joshua must overcome a long-suppressed trauma.
The conflict unfolds in a world that has long since been shattered: the climate catastrophe is killing people and animals, large parts of the earth are uninhabitable, droughts and floods are destroying the basis of life. The United States have become a fascist dictatorship, and the shift to the right in Europe is causing violence to escalate here, too. The Western Alliance, which emerged from NATO, has been at war with China on Australian soil for a year now. It is sending millions of young soldiers to their deaths.
