BORN

Dark, extremely suspenseful – and oppressively realistic:
The noir thriller “Born” is set in a near future in which Europe has lost the war for essential resources.

Germany in the near future: The Great Sand War has made the country almost uninhabitable and the population is crowded into gigantic mega-cities. Huge farms outside ensure the supply of basic necessities – or what the government deems necessary.
Nalani keeps her head above water as a cab driver in the mega-city of Born, always accompanied by Fergus, her emergency car hologram that can no longer be deactivated and knows pretty much everything better.

Her life is turned upside down when her brother Tomas contacts her in desperation: Something is going very wrong on the farms, which are run by so-called brothers and sisters according to an Old Testament code, and Nalani, who has to deal with the worst scum day after day, is his last resort …

In her noir thriller “Born”, Kris Brynn, the author of “The Shelter – Future Without Hope” (winner of the SERAPH 2019 in the ‘Debut’ category) and “Out of Balance” (nominated for the SERAPH 2020), creates an oppressively realistic vision of the future. The right dose of action, lively dialog and plenty of atmosphere make this thriller a real reading highlight.
