Journey into the Heart of a New World
Ragin has awakened after five hundred years of cryosleep and, above all, wants to explore—in peace—a world where the climate catastrophe is now just a faint memory. Then another survivor from her time calls out for help. Reluctantly, she leaves her safe station to solve his problem. She expects the trip to take just a few days.
Fortunately, she didn’t leave her cat, Alice, behind, because—of course—things don’t go as planned. Instead of flying over the wilderness, the two companions plunge deep into it. Along the way, Ragin gets to know the communities of surviving humans and discovers entirely new sides of herself. But she can’t stay anywhere until she has fulfilled her mission.
Along the way, she must face dangers, not the least of which is her own overconfidence.
