A corpse with horrific injuries to the body and skull is fished out of the Danube. Richard Schwarz from the LKA (Landeskriminalamt: State Criminal Police Office) knows the dead man: Jan Dorn, a seriously ill former police colleague. The investigation leads him to Jan’s self-help group, where hopes are raised with every new drug from the pharmaceutical industry. The fear of death is a cruel game with experimental studies and miracle cures.
