Heidi Metzmeier

Heidi Metzmeier, born in 1968 in Rheinhessen, Germany, holds a doctorate in biology and is a communications consultant. Her passions today are writing and traveling. When she is not on the world’s nature stages, she lives with her husband and dog on the rim of the northern Black Forest.

Based on her education and shaped by her travel experiences in more than sixty countries on four continents, she wants to give space to the global issues of our time in her books.

I am involved with Climate Fiction Writers Europe because it is important to me that we speak with one loud voice, support each other and make a difference in terms of climate protection.

Die Erbin der Wut (The Heiress of Rage)

A deceptive vacation idyll. Long-kept secrets. Fateful encounters.

1977: The assassination of a young woman shakes Karlsruhe. The explosion destroys everything – the future, convictions and families.

2022: Committed student Hanna is a climate activist with high ambitions and a lot of anger in her stomach. Unexpected news takes her on a family vacation to the island of Crete, where a fateful encounter conjures up the ghosts of the past. Hanna is forced to set a new course for her life. Is she up to it?

A gripping novel about family ties, political ideals and the power of forgiveness.

«Four women, three generations and their ‘history’. A very readable portrait of our society.»
