Julia K. Rodeit

Julia K. Rodeit is the pseudonym of crime novelist Katrin Rodeit, who was born in Ulm, Germany. After graduating from high school, she studied business administration (BA) and worked in leasing companies.

After the birth of her first daughter, she rediscovered her love of writing and from then on devoted herself to developing stories. First it was crime novels, then she decided to focus on her romantic side as Julia K. Rodeit and combine her favorite passions, traveling and writing. She has since turned her attention to her favorite region: the German coast.
Even as a child, she loved being by the sea. She likes the peace and tranquillity, the friendly people and the vastness when looking out over the water.

When she is not on a research trip to the coast, she lives with her husband and two children on the edge of the Swabian Alb. If you read carefully, you might also find her garden and the chickens in one of the books.

I am involved with Climate Fiction Writers Europe because I care about the future of our planet for future generations and I believe that I can make a difference with my voice, also as an author.

When everything becomes too much for her, she flees to Amrum and ends up at the picturesque Deichblick island hotel. Life seems to pause there, not least because of the hotelier’s charming son Jannis Martinen. With him, Sarah can forget all her worries on long excursions and horseback rides through the tranquil salt marshes.
But everyday life catches up with her sooner than she would like, and Sarah has to choose between a sense of duty and love, because she can’t have both …

Amore Frisian-tart

Marine biologist Viola has left her old life in Italy behind and arrived on Amrum. She has friends and a fulfilling job at the nature conservation station. But her peace and quiet is suddenly shattered when her brother discovers her and shortly afterwards shows up on her doorstep with half her extended Sicilian family and – even worse – her potential husband Luca. If only he wasn’t such a cocky Italian macho! It doesn’t take long for the sparks to fly between him and Viola. Luca would rather be anywhere than on a small German island. After all, there’s a pediatrician’s office in Italy and plenty of women’s hearts waiting for him to conquer. The only thing they both agree on is that they won’t get married. That’s it!
Or is there more in common …?

A turbulent romance novel with plenty of island flair – the long-awaited sequel to the series about the small island hotel behind the dyke.

The novel was nominated as one of three finalists for the Kindle Storyteller Award 2022 (in Germany).

Climate and environment-related topics:

  • Work at the nature conservation station, this time it’s about phosphorus from the Second World War that washes up on Amrum.
  • The nature reserve of the Amrumer Odde (dune landscape)
